Donald Trump has written a book called "The Art of the Deal." His latest tome is "Trump: How to Get Rich." So it's no surprise that he's negotiated himself a raise for appearing on the NBC reality show "The Apprentice."

Trump's original deal for "The Apprentice" paid him about $50,000 per episode, which is pretty much pocket change for the billionaire developer. When the show became a hit, however, he and NBC revisited the contract.

"When we put the old deal on, we didn't know [the show] was going to be a smash hit," Trump tells the Los Angeles Times. He declines to put a dollar number on his new salary, but sources tell the paper his on-camera fee will at least double for the next two cycles of the show.

Trump is also an executive producer of "The Apprentice" and earns additional pay in that role.

Whether his raise makes him the highest-paid star in primetime, as the Times says Trump has claimed, is debatable. "Everybody Loves Raymond" star Ray Romano, who makes a reported $1.8 million per episode, currently holds that title.
